Our Sixth Form dress expectations reflect the greater independence and maturity that comes with post-16 education. Students are free to wear their own clothes, with no requirement for business attire or formal dress. We also place no restrictions on jewellery or personal style, provided choices remain reasonable and appropriate for a school environment.
This flexible approach is grounded in our belief that clothing does not define a student’s commitment, focus, or academic potential. Instead, we encourage students to express themselves authentically while maintaining a sense of responsibility and respect for the community around them.
Our aim is to create a welcoming, comfortable environment where students can concentrate on their learning, personal development, and future aspirations – without unnecessary rules about uniform.
We understand that financial considerations can sometimes present barriers to continuing education after GCSEs. That is why our Sixth Form participates in the national post-16 bursary scheme, offering support to eligible students to ensure they can fully engage in their studies.
The bursary is designed to help meet essential costs associated with Sixth Form participation – such as transport, books, equipment, and necessary educational expenses – for those students whose circumstances mean such support will make a real difference.
Support is available both to students in defined vulnerable groups and, in some cases, to other students through discretionary bursaries. Each application is assessed individually based on actual financial need, ensuring fairness and transparency in allocation.
Our goal is to remove barriers and ensure that every eligible student has the opportunity to continue their education, regardless of personal or financial circumstances.
