Highsted Grammar School is celebrating another year of exceptional examination success, with students achieving outstanding GCSE results across a broad range of subjects. More than 40% of all GCSE grades awarded were at grades 9–7, with particularly exceptional performances in Science, Mathematics and Geography.

Following the trend set by Highsted’s excellent A-level results last week, students have demonstrated remarkable strength across a wide range of academic disciplines. Twenty-five students achieved an average grade of 8 across all of their GCSE subjects, while an outstanding six students achieved an average grade of 9 across their entire programme of study. These results reflect not only the academic ability of the students, but also their commitment, resilience and ambition throughout their time at Highsted.

The results come at an especially exciting moment for the school as Highsted prepares to welcome students into its new Sixth Form Centre and STEM building this September. The new facilities represent a significant investment in the next stage of Highsted’s development and will provide an exceptional environment in which this talented cohort can continue their studies.

Assistant Headteacher, Louise Porter-Barnett commented: “We are immensely proud of this year group. To see more than 40% of grades awarded at 9–7 is a tremendous achievement, but what is particularly pleasing is the breadth of success across the curriculum. As we prepare to open the doors to our new Sixth Form and STEM facilities, it feels especially significant that the students entering them are such an exceptionally talented and ambitious cohort. They have an exciting next chapter ahead of them.

Results morning was a wonderful celebration. Seeing so many happy faces, with families and teachers sharing in those moments, was a powerful reminder that these achievements are the result of years of hard work and of the support surrounding our students. We congratulate every student and look forward to seeing where their next steps take them.”

Many of the students will now continue their studies at Highsted Sixth Form, beginning their A-level programmes in September and becoming among the first students to benefit from the school’s new facilities.

Today’s GCSE success, following last week’s strong A-level performance, provides an exciting start to the next chapter for Highsted Grammar School and its students.
