The Key Stage Three Science curriculum fires students’ natural curiosity about the world, encouraging them to become confident learners and challenge ideas by asking questions.
Through their immersion in thinking and working scientifically, students will deepen their knowledge and understanding of science by seeking evidence to arrive at rational explanations before reviewing their plausibility.
Students are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave and analyse causes.

Our Key Stage Three Science curriculum covers 10 ‘big ideas’ to provide the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics: Forces; Electromagnets; Energy, Waves; Matter; Reactions; Earth; Organisms; Ecosystem; and Genes.

With History, e.g. the development of vaccines to allow a dead or altered form of a disease-causing pathogen to be introduced into the body containing a specific antigen.With Maths, e.g. the analysis and interpretation of graphs and tables.With Geography, e.g. the impact on human activity on the world’s climate.
