Biology teaches students about themselves and their role as a biological organism. Students learn about the wealth of living organisms from animals and plants to micro-organisms and their interactions with each other and their environment.
We encourage students to collect and interpret information to identify patterns of cause and effect.
Students learn that they are part of an interdependent ecosystem whose fragile nature presents a challenge for our future.

Years 9-11
Cell biology, transport systems, health and disease, co-ordination and control, photosynthesis, ecosystems, evolution, inheritance and variation.
Sixth Form
The sixth form Biology curriculum deepens students’ knowledge and understanding of plant biology, animal biology and microbiology. The living world is studied at population, organism, cell and molecular levels.
